I'm a process girl, so it was only a matter of time before I took my intuitive abstracts one step further. Currently sequestered in the country but a city girl at heart, I was crushing on the public art that's taking over the exterior walls of downtown buildings across the country. Inspired by the surfaces, textures and even the decay in urban spaces, I had no such walls at my disposal, so I got creative with my muse. This was my first experiment with using a transfer process to overlay an image of brick and concrete on top of an acrylic abstract, and then painting a bit more to integrate the art. It was a subtle start, but a springboard to an edgy urban series coming soon to Reckless Abandon Gallery. Be on the lookout!
